A Road To Health

Latest News
Working with 3SF member organisations we carried out a survey on older peoples perceptions of transport and access to heath and wellbeing opportunities in Dumfries and Galloway.

The Road To Health Summary Report showing our findings is available on the link below.

A final report containing the findings and our recommendations will be presented to Scottish Parliament on 27th March in Holyrood.

We have had cross party support from over 20 MSP's to lodge a motion for debate in Parliament ( See link below)

The project is also working on lodging Parliamentary Petitions.

The CPP3 group is committed to continuing their work and overseeing the implementation of their recommendations

Background To CPP3

5 Organisations have teamed up with the Scottish Parliament as part of its innovative community project

The 5 partners are:

1.Dumfries and Galloway Regional Third Sector Forum (3SF)

2.Volunteer Centre East Dunbartonshire (VCED)

3.Action In Mind (Stirling)

4.Grampaign Family Supoort Forum (GFSF)

5. Multi-Ethnic Aberdeen Ltd (MeAL)

The five partners will work with Holyrood's staff over the next 18 months to gain first hand practical experience of how to interact and engage with the Scottish Parliament.

Speaking ahead of the projects launch on 15 June, Presiding Officer Tricia Marwick MSP, who hosted the launch said:
"The Community Partnerships Project is unique in that it is driven by the partner organisations themselves. Partners bring their own energy, vision and commitment to the project, and this ensures that their campaigns truly reflect their needs and aspirations".

3SF Campaign

That the Parliament urges the Scottish Government to bring forward a policy that requires Health Boards & Local Authorities to combine resources to maximise the efficiency of transport arrangements for (older) patients & their carers attending hospital and day care provisions.

The 3SF presentation can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
