How we can help... In Wigtownshire: The Bridge DG provides support to voluntary groups and community organisations in the Wigtownshire area including funding advice, group/organisation development and administration services. We are based in the Citizens Advice Bureau (second floor), 23 Lewis Street, Stranraer. We provide the following services and resources: Funding Advice and Legal Structures - We assist groups with grant applications from a wide variety of sources. We can support new group and project set up, including initial project management and financial planning. Independent Examination of Accounts - Are you a registered charity with an income of less than £100,000 per year?  Are you an unincorporated association (i.e. not a Company Limited)?  The Bridge DG can offer help with putting together your accounts and independently examining them.  Two of our Board members are Full Members of the Association of Independent Charity Examiners and our staff have been trained in independent examination and are working towards full membership.  Our service is very low-cost and is based on your organisation’s annual income.   Training - We can also provide a range of capacity-building training for community groups on legal structures/constitutions, committee skills, managing grants, monitoring and evaluation and basic budget/accounts. This can include business planning, advice on contracts, income generation, measuring outcomes and good governance. We also provide a voice for the Third Sector across the region by participating in a number of strategic partnerships and working groups (see Partnership Working page).
